Same here. We are moving to a bigger place within our complex but the current occupants need to move out first.

Do you have any idea how that will work? I'm assuming the moving companies will have to shut down.

So I applaud Cyril for stepping up to make the calls he has made. I've already noted that we're not on the same footing as most 1st world countries out there that are getting whipped by this virus, and when you look at the options in front of him, even though this is devastating I feel like it's the right call.

I've seen thread after thread on Twitter about how companies, stuck in the dark ages, are grappling with the idea of sending employees home or allowing them to just work from home. It's great that Cyril has made this decision for them as it will protect many many people that corporate South Africa would be too weak to defend, while they try to lookout for their shareholders and own back pockets first and foremost.

Lets go 21 days - lets do this thing!

Good call, yes, we really don't have much more to lose than junk status.

But 21 days is certainly not going to be enough. But hopefully it will allow everyone to catch a wake-up and change their behaviours which will then carry us through the next 6-8 months of dealing with it.

Are there any changes to SA residents and non-residents that need to leave the country during the lockdown?

Non residents will probably be less of an issue, but residents where you going? You won't be welcome there

I think its just breathing room. It's an opportunity to hit the pause button and think this over BEFORE it overwhelms us and puts us in a position whereby our only option is to react to the chaos that is erupting. I think we're in deep **** already but hopefully we can 'flatten the curve' and, some god willing, a suitable medication can be confirmed within the next month or at the very least the testing capability can be increased to ensure every South African can know their status.

Serious question: There is no mention of outside exercise in this discussion. After 21 days most people will be going crazy!? Or do we walk to the furthest possible supermarket instead?

I do regular dog walking, and I know they go crazy if they don't get walked regularly.

Well you paying tax probably in the next day or two and then after that sure you can have a break except for vat for 21 days until next payday

I don't think so, they will charge you for the later submission and penalty.

I live in a quiet suburb and we hardly ever encounter people when we're walking the dogs.

Run around the house 10 times.

You are not allowed to leave your house unless its for food or medical purposes, this means no exercise outside of your property
