If you regularly work from home and have a dedicated permanent office space at home, you could claim every year. And not just from now.
I just wish this applied to freelancers or contact workers :/

Today was a hilarious demonstration of the outcomes of having such low pass rates in SA, especially in maths.
It was also a demonstration of how pathetically illqualified many senior officials and Ministers are to hold their positions. Numerous govt officials made the wrong statements about when the lock down starts. Their statements were reported on by the SABC news services.
Morning Live opened with a statement that the lock down starts

" from tomorrow", ie. Wednesday, followed shortly after with a statement "from Thursday", and then shortly thereafter with the original wording " from midnight Thursday". More consternation arose when the two morning presenters appeared to be desperately trying to clarify and the finally a few minutes later, the words "from Thursday evening at midnight".
Clearly, lots of drama was going on in the background.

Why not. If you're self employed freelancing and trading as a sole proprietor, you can claim for a home office.

Contact workers obviously will not be able to work from home and therefore will not have a home office.

This shutdown is going to be an absolute farce.

One of our largest customers, which is most definitely NOT in the essential services sector, is still going to be operating.

So now we have to find a way to service the customer during lockdown.

What a joke.

And here's one of the reasons people keep saying don't be a prepper, why are you covered for 3 months?

Off topic, but that's why NATO developed a time-standard. There is no such thing as midnight in a properly defined system, its a colloquialism which should never be used, precisely for this exact reason...

How many current politicians have any experience of the military? Almost certainly nobody in the cabinet. The only one I can think of is Bantu Holomisa (UDM).

Fml, the amount of people here who can't tell time is baffling. And that includes the government.

Maybe everyone here can try an experiment. Look at your phone later on at 00:00, and report back here whether it says Tuesday or Wednesday...

That phone was programmed by a person to do that.

So everyone here has the same phone?

Also it's the concept that was programmed, not that person's own understanding of the concept.

Go Google it...
True. There was a user, I cant remember their exact story. But two programmers saw differently to when 00:00 was the start or end of the day.

I feel sorry for the hermits and shut-ins that are going to suddenly have itchy feet after the lockdown kicks in
