Well I was quoting the scientist advising the presidency...
They have NOT been testing people who do not display symptoms.
They have. That's how they got the initial 9 on the plane. Just the other day a school tested negative after a parent tested positive. So I don't know where this "scientist" is coming from. It's the blind leading the blind it seems.

Before this lockdown goes in full effect can we still use bank ATM's to make cash deposits? There are some payments I need to make to some accounts today (25 March) which I can only do through cash deposits. The Capitec bank at my local mall usually has ATM's that allow for cash deposits. I need to make these payments today, so I'm hoping ATM's can still be used for the time being. I know it's not ideal, but like I said these payments can only be done through cash deposits.

Pretty sure all banking facilities will be operational and I see no reason why ATMs would shutdown since it forms part of banking operations. I would assume they would just hope people would take precautions when using ATM machines and make sure they wash their hands with proper sanitizer afterwards.

Stuff's going to get real if failkom decides to implement loadcrapping during this lockdown. On their twitter they say they are already operating on emergency reserves. :(

So, another example of terrible English usage.

What the H is "....walking et cetera will be canvassed" supposed to mean? Are they going to run a poll? Are they going to ask a sample of people what they think? Or are they simply using trashy media speak to try and say "covered or explained"?

How about "including what penalty's"? That's a classic.

Do you have any idea how that will work? I'm assuming the moving companies will have to shut down.
The house we are moving to is just about empty. They people who stayed there started moving yesterday and should be finished today which means we should be in by the time the clock strikes 12:00 (or 11:59, or 00:00, or 00:01)

Looks like they'll be issuing permits to those allowed to travel and work during the lockdown. My company stays operating but haven't heard anything about permits. An Eskom guy says theirs are in process.

Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula will address all transport related queries tomorrow, 25 March 2020, as part of the Justice, Crime Prevention and Security Cluster media briefing.

President Cyril Ramaphosa’s announcement of a 21 day lockdown will severely affect mobility in the maritime, aviation, rail and road transportation sectors.

The Minister will tomorrow provide details on the implementation strategy of the President’s pronouncement.

Dude calm the f down. Someone walking around the block and not touching others won't cause it to spread.

However long the virus can last, while it is in the air in droplets, anyone within two metres of the cough or sneeze can breathe it in and become infected. An uninterrupted droplet from a sneeze can travel around 60 metres, but most are caught in tissues.

Not everyone out there is as vigilant as you.

I just laff my head off, it was 9am and people* were walking out with trollies full of castle. I got half a laff as I walked out with 1x case of Guinness.

*not hordes or zerg but the average amount of customers.

Well one of my possible plans is out the water... literally.

NSRI reporting that anyone found on the water on the Vaal Dam or River will be arrested by the SAPS water wing.

No confirmation yet - for now only deliveries of food and medicine are allowed.
