Absolute turkeys.
What happened to being allowed to go to the shops?
This government is a joke LOL

They dispersed crowds there moments earlier. Media was still lingering around to capture the moment.

POLICE ORDER HILLBROW SHOPS TO CLOSE TO ENFORCE LOCKDOWN
Earlier on Friday, the police used teargas to disperse groups of people who refused to adhere to the lockdown.

JOHANNESBURG - The police in Hillbrow have now ordered that all business owners must close their shops, saying that people were simply making excuses about shopping to be in the streets of Hillbrow.

Earlier on Friday, the police used teargas to disperse groups of people who refused to adhere to the lockdown.

Two people have now died from the virus and over 1,000 are infected in South Africa.

Officers have been focusing on closing down a number of shops.

Police have ordered retailers to shut their doors as they try to remove as many people as they can from the streets.

The police in Hillbrow clashed with residents, with some using sjamboks.

Earlier, they ordered the owner of a butchery to close.

Officers also found a group a youngster in a shebeen and they were quickly dealt with.

As they continue with their operation, they are also searching individuals and demanding essential services permits from motorists.

The streets of Hillbrow are gradually becoming empty.

Some residents appear to be welcoming the police’s action.

Other areas that are being targeted include Yeoville and some parts of the Joburg CBD.

Same, but at Yeoville.

Suppose it's too much to hope for a simple list of what you can and can't do during this lockdown - one written in plain English and not mangled by officialese or requiring a moron in a hat or African print dress speaking on national TV .

Just btw, is jogging and dog walking allowed or not?

Just heard that some people went to the beach today in my parts, apparently no police in sight, with car guards out in their numbers. I also heard that an elderly couple was pulled over who was trying to go to a countryside drive.

I haven't been out today but will be going to the shop tomorrow to go have a look.

No, you may not:

every person is confined to his or her place of residence, unless strictly for the purpose of performing an essential service, obtaining an essential good or service, collecting a social grant, or seeking emergency, life-saving, or chronic medical attention;

No, you may not:

Thanks. My neighbour seems to think it's fine.

The only one in our road who went for a jog this morning and took his dogs (off leash) for a walk this afternoon.

He is simply, once again, proving what type of person he is.

There are 3 cases where you are allowed to leave your premises:
1. To buy groceries.
2. For medical purposes. So, to go to the pharmacy, the doctor or hospital.
3. For work that has been declared essential, you will know if you are part of this group.

No, you are not allowed to jog or walk the dog.

Very much eish..... Trying to decide if those cops were over stepping the line though with pointing the firearm into the one premises and such

Anyone out on the streets now is taking advantage of nobody being around and likely up to no good.
