I've been with 24-7Online for a few months now and they are the worst bloody business I have ever had anything to do with. STAY AWAY From them. They're rude, unhelpfull, slow both connection and everything else. I WOULD LOVE CAPPED ADSL FROM TELKOM OVER THIS S:mad: %T. My e-mail is slow and my hosting company says its entirely my ISP after doing a tracert. My connection has been down twice for up to 5Hours when phoned they said it was a problem in the Cape Town area but they resolved it at 3AM. I'm trying to run a business and the internet just shuts down for 5Hours. They are F^&%%King useless.

24-7

I use 24-7 (Randburg).

Have had it for years. I do get the occassional problem - but hey this is S. Africa - where Telkom is the major contributor to most problems.

For business use it really works well for me - haven't gone ADSL as calling Telkom when there's a problem is non-productive.

For personal use, without P2P, 24-7 is worthless

24-7

Ive been with them for a month now. Support is a bit lacking but thats the case with most companies in SA.

As for p2p and torrents. I was told by the sales agent and on their website it says that you can use it but they dont guarantee it will work. I shouldve taken that as it DOESNT work. But im ure there is a way to hack it of course...

Speed seems constant though and the connection was down once. For this price and without telkom its a pleasure! I have the R399.00 128k package.

If you are having connection problems, take it up with them because its their responsibility to make sure that you have a good connection from where you are. Demand your money back!

Just curious, 128K wireless for R399 ? You could get 384K ADSL + 3GIG/30gig IS account for the same price?

Also since u cant do torrents on the 24-7 online connection, im sure its not to easy to hit 3gig anyways on that?

That may be so.............. but then you have forgotten the monthly line rental. This ads anothe R100 or so.

I am with Helderberg Wireless Sollutions in Somerset West. I pay R399 for a
128k wireless connection. No cap. And very good service.

I dont think one can find anything much cheaper than this.

For P2P, 24-7 is useless, but for pure business use, it works extremely well.
There are no IP resets, and a static IP address. This allows my accountant to log into our system via the internet and do sensitive financial work without compromising our security.

From what I understand, they are buying bandwidth from IS.

So then why do they say P2P will work fine after hours? They even say i can test it for 3 months and if its cuck then get rid of it no strings attached.

Xclusiv isnt bad but last week, for two days, my internet connection was very eratic. today, monday the 25th, there was no connection the
ENTIRE day. You could only send and recieve email.

So be wary.
