Good news for load-shedding — in 2026

Projects are underway to upgrade Eskom's infrastructure in the areas of generation and transmission in an effort to increase their capacity and resolve load shedding.

Addressing a media briefing on Sunday, Minister of Electricity, Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, said 25 projects to upgrade the existing transformers and increase their capacity are currently in construction.

"The work starts now to be connected by 2026 to ensure there is additional capacity,” the minister said."

Hmmmm...
Fast Forward:
The year is 2037, the Mars sample return Mission returned 5 years ago and humanity has taken for granted that life evolved somewhere else in our solar system, Europe is running on smart grids with renewables and phasing out the last of their combustion engines. 1/2 the population in the West associates as LGBTQ-IAA+ΔVRRSTα. Sodium and solid state batteries are abundant. Steve Hofmeyr is the president of Orania, but dying of foreskin cancer. MyBB changed its look and feel. The planet is still warming at an alarming rate but MyBB posters mostly blame atmospheric friction with wind turbines.

Our government comments on the grid infrastructure upgrade:
"There were some hurdles, the 5th commission of enquiry is looking into it, but we did it!"

Oh goodie. Gather around kids. It's story time with Uncle Sparkles. And today's story is "We're fixing things and other fairytales"

A bit LATE.
There wont be an economy in 2026.
This is crippling the country.

At least he's buying time and securing his JOB till then.

Ok thats nice Minister Electricity...

What are the 25 projects, specifically?

Ramokgopa said the albatross remains the capacity loss factor, where units fail as a result of a multiplicity of factors.
Until you acknowledge that Gweezy is the albatross, you aren't going to make any progress.

Unless it involves coal kickbacks, Gweezy will not allow any new capacity to be built to feed the grid.
