250MB free data not included with phone contract

I signed up for a new contract which has 250mb data included. Half way through the month I checked my usage and I find there is no data inculded and my bill is way more than what it should be.

I tried phoning (16 March iirc) but I was told to go to a store. I get to the store, and they made me phone in again. That time I at least got promised a reference number but I never received it.

So 17 March I emailed customer service, 5 days later I get a reply (22 March) asking for a copy of my upgrade form. I emailed this back the very same day. Now its 30 March and still nothing.

So now what? Is 2+ weeks turn around time standard? I think I've given CellC more than enough time to get this sorted out and have been very lenient but now it looks like absolutely nothing is happening :mad:

Having the exact same problem.

Bill comes at the end of the month and it's more than what the contractual amount is.

Seeing as this is 'n "pre-paid" package with a fixed amount of bandwidth.

How the hell am I going to use caller ID and Itemized billing on a data sim???

on a similar but unrelated note: Isn't the Consumer Protection Act kicking in from the 1st of April?

Have not yet heard back from anyone on this matter. I expect problems to at least be recognised within 2 days, and resolved within another 3. Its been over 3 weeks now :mad:

Archer I am in the same boat as you.

remember we did our upgrades around a similar time frame?

it's been over 3 -4 weeks now and I still don't have my 250mb data bundle attached to my upgrade.

Shocking :mad:

please sort this out!

Yes I do remember. And you're way over in Durban so its not like its a branch specific problem. Gah!

Actually It is, I ended going for the upgrade in Cell C gateway because Cell C direct were pathetic.

Have been calling Gateway Cell C twice a week since and have not received any feedback. not even a call back.

Dont waste your time going to a branch, they just tell you to phone the call centre. I'm going to try go up the food chain, but only have time for that next week.

Same problem here with red bull mobile. The free minutes and data do not reflect on my statement and the bill is more than it should be.

It's painful. I just called them back and they have the gall of telling me " there is another customer who has the same problem " how the hell is that supposed to make me feel better ??? Do they think I will say " oh lovely, atleast I am not alone in frustration" geez, just fix the blooming problem. I am terrified of using data on my phone ( the P500 is a data hungry device!). so at present I have my 3G signal turned off and only use WIFI at home. :mad: I don't want to be shocked with a monstrous bill.the other issue is we have now paid probably 2 months of our agreement with them and haven't received our data. does this mean I now qualify for a re bait as it was not loaded? I haven't even approached this topic yet. I want the data and then I will tackle that issue.

normally I wouldn't be concerned with my bill, but I am cash strapped for the next 2-3 months ( gotta buy textbooks and pay study fees) so I got to be very careful!

and yes, please provide feedback - atleast we can get this fixed up.
