So, today I have been downloading somewhat and had great speeds, the best 8ta gave me this year. I downloaded averaging 130KB/S, which was great - until I ran out of bandwidth and decided to load the 25GB promotion at R999.
After loading it, I restarted my PC and continued downloading. Suddenly my speeds are averaging about 25KB/s to 60KB/s - nothing more.
I also saw some discrepancies in the average download speed on 8ta's system and that of my Internet Download Manager.
So, I stopped everything, rebooted my PC, did a balance check and started downloading one file again - again at about 40KB/s for a few minutes.
The file I downloaded was 5.9MB in size. It took around 12 minutes to download and I disconnected 8ta. According to my 8ta balance I downloaded 16MB, while the file was only 5.9MB. I did not open any windows, or my emails. I stopped my anti-virus.
Why was so many bandwidth taken when downloading such a small file, and also why is my speeds suddenly limited on the 25GB promotion package?
