Hi
I have the 2GB x 12 months prepaid.

Since a few days ago it's been dead. I just did a *101# and get a report back that I have a balance of R10 and that my expiry date is 12/12/2011. When I try to make a voice call Trevor says "Your service has been lost"

Now I remember I had a similar problem a few months ago and the helpdesk suggested that I buy a small amount of airtime & load it onto the phone. This did the trick to get me going again.

Surely CellC can't expect me to purchase airtime on a prepaid SIM card which has 12 months worth of data on it?

Any ideas?

Don't load airtime, no problem. Once you have loaded airtime, it switches you to the different billing system and airtime expiry kicks you out. it must be a glitch in the system.

I have the same package as you and don't have the same problem. I load prepaid airtime for when my 2gig runs out. Then, come the first of the month, it kicks over to the 2gig again and the balance of the money I put on remains until the 2gig runs out again. Not sure why you're having the hassle you're having - actually sounds like your 12 months expired on the 12/12/2011?? If it wasn't supposed to, then I suggest you go into a cellc shop and discuss it with them.

Loaded R 5 and now I'm good till the end of the month. Still a nuisance though.

HSPA prepaid 2 gig per month

I bought a mobile broadband speed stick this November, however the balance shows zero, however the available air time is correct. Recently I have encountered a problem whereby I could not browse the internet and when I addressed the problem with CellC in Fourways, I was told that I need to buy R5.00 airtime which will give me 30 days access to the system. Currently I do not have access to the system since yesterday evening as it was showing an expiry date of 14/12/2011. Plse explain this inconvenience. I have already paid the R1,499.00 to gain access to your system for 12 months now this. My sim number is ********** and *********. Plse fix this problem.

:wtf: You pay R1499 & then you must pay R5.00 per month to activate the priv. to use what you have paid for already???

They don't even mention that in their terms and conditions. This is one big scam, it's equivalent to R60.00 extra per annum to use their network.

First time I heard of this issue, have two Cell C sticks a black one and a white one with a 2 Gig PM package for our family. When I had technical problems found good help at 0841555555, their technical helpline.

Please can you PM me.
Would be best to remove your details from thread.
Bad spam.

Will assist, As once you buy data sim deal you don't need to load airtime to gain access.

Edit: What i can see it is up and running.
Please advise if all has been sorted.

Exactly the same happened to me. My airtime that was due to expire on 5th May stopped on 28th Feb. After 6 days of making a big scene, it was "put back" to 5th May. But why do it in the first place? I had no phone for 6 days and CellC made all sorts of different excuses ranging from not topping up to a faulty SIM card. I called them 22 times from 28th Feb to yesterday when it started to work, plus sent 44 emails, sometimes 8 a day. When I asked this morning what went wrong, they blamed it on my SIM card again.
