Hi there

Is it possible to have multiple adsl modems on 1x adsl line...?

It would be much easier to purchase an additional cheap adsl modem instead of going the wifi route in order to share my adsl with the rest of my house!

With my current modem in "bridge" mode I can make as many PPPoE connections as I like but i am uncertain if it would work with a 2x adsl modems?

thanks

what mikef said.

1 modem in bridge mode is the way to go if you want to split connections for whatever reason.

FYI: bridge mode does not, in any way, split bandwidth on the line. So 2 PPPOE connections on a 512kbit line does not equate to 2 x 256kbit connections. The connections will use whatever bandwidth is available on the line.

I have a Billion Wireless ADSL Router and a Linksys WRT54GL Router. The Linksys can create a PPPoE while the Billion is connected to an other account. Downside is that the PCs on the Billion cannot use the Linksys connection and the PCs on the Linksys can't use the Billion connection.

You can connect two routers to one ADSL modem, but only ONE modem to an ADSL line. In Daniedj's case, I guess the Billion (which is a modem+router in one) is connected to the ADSL line and PPPoE relay is enabled then the Linksys is connected to the Billion, which then creates it's own PPPoE session.

That makes more sense..

But could the pc's connected to the billion share files with the linksys?
