3 days to Port from Vodacom to Cell C?

Apologies if this is in the wrong section.

I took the plunge and defected from Vodacom to Cell C. My service provider (Autopage) said they could do an internal port and that I should call them to affect the port as soon as have used up my Vodacom minutes for this month. I duly did this on Mon 26 Nov at 10:30am and was told the port process would begin and should be completed within 2 and 24 hrs time.

Well, it's coming up nearly 3 days later and my Vodacom SIM card is still active, apparently some "problem" with the port?

Where would this "problem" typically occur? With Vodacom, Cell C or Autopage? My hunch is the latter.

I think your hunch is about right, it sounds to me like Autopage screwed up.

I ported from Vodacom myself and it took me less than 24 hours.

Hmm... I ported from CellC to Vodacom on 16 November... still stuck on CellC... wonder what's going on...

Ported from Vodacom to Cellc a few months ago.

Went into the Cellc shop, paid R10 for the number porting and got a new sim. (Took maybe 20mins)
7 hours later (10pm that same day) the sim went offline as they said it would.
Put the Cellc sim in and all sorted.

I was pretty impressed to say the least.. expected it to be a mission.

The problem is Autopage. I had a similar problem with them.

I ported from Virgin Mobile to CellC last night within an hour. Went to the CellC store at Canal Walk. They rica'd me and within an hour my Virgin Mobile sim stopped working. So I popped in the new CellC sim, bought some airtime online and loaded a R7.50 data bundle for the 15c/mb goodness.

Everything working well so far

PS. I see that we get free airtime for the weekend equal to the voucher price. I assume that this can only be used on calls?
