Hifi corp had a special on this weekend for 5800 - Full HD Samsung 32"...

Did anyone check it out? Was it worth the buy?

In comparison to the 32" Samsung HD ready for 4600 (i think +/-)...

Just wanted your opinions on it.

Tx :)

I am very wearing of buying at HiFi Corruption or Incredible Deception. Maybe have a look at what you can get at Game.

I can highly recommend their in house brand Logik. I had a 86cm Logik CRT TV for 3 years and I sold it recently (still in perfect condition) after I got a 48" Logik Full HD LCD for less then R10k. Give them a try if you want the most bang for your buck.

It is not just a case of buying a fake, it is also a case of being stuck with their customer support should something go wrong. I have had that experience a few times with Philips and Samsung electronics that I bought from them. Strangely not with LG, but where possible I shop at Game instead. HiFi Corp customer support is not the worlds best...

If you have your mind made up on Samsung and need to decide between those two I think your choice will come down to if you are going to use a PC on it. If not 720p will be fine. If you are going to connect a PC to it then you would want the Full HD one.

yeah, i suppose customer support is a pain, although the price difference still brings other retailers to KO.

Just think in today's circumstances, we all still want to live big and have the fancy little (actually big) gadgets, although finances don't always allow.. so from a after service perspective, i'm keen to battle it out with the people if something does hit the fan..

It would primarily be for TV.. DSTv/DVD's/Xbox360 & ps3..
I think when i consider ps3, bluray 1080p fullhd would be nice, but is it really noticeably on a 32"?

When i connect my computer through hdmi on the full hd, yes.. there will be a big difference.. but what else.. is that really worth it then, already got a 23" samsung for the desktop

The SW2333 desktop monitor is awesome - I love mine.

In your case I would then go for the 720p one since PC usage is not a primary concern for you and the display is only 32" big anyway.

I sent e- mails to Samsung, LG and Sony asking them if the products that are sold at Hi-Fi corporation carry their warranties and and guarantees and all confirmed positively to the question.

ahaaaa... so then it just confirms that the reason why hificorp and them sell it so cheap is because of the bulk orders they do... and not cause they selling dodge stuff

True, but their customer support when something goes wrong is something I'd rather pay more for to avoid.

I do think they still have to improve vastly but i think they are better since being taken over by the JD Group.

+1 for everything Rouxenator said.

Just to re-iterate:

1) If you need the resolution then go for the Full HD, otherwise go for the HD Ready.
2) Game is great. You can even get them to beat Hifi Corp's price, then you get an even BETTER deal
3) Game's customer service >> Hifi Corp's customer service
