Hi everyone, looking at these, any reasons why one is better than the other. Uses would be primarily usual work stuff, email, spreadsheets etc, gaming not competitive, a bit of CS:GO, & ACC on pc. Possibly PS5 in the future.

Sammy @R5k : Sounds silly but with everything black on my desk, gonna stick out like a sore thumb.
Dell @R9k:
View Sonic @R8600:
AOC @R9500

Think I have a few ebucks to burn so thought why not.

Honestly don't go full HD on 32" sure it was fine on a TV, but you sit further away from it. Also curved is gimmicky

@animal531 are you using it as a single monitor or dual?

I'm using it as my new main screen, then I'm using my old Samsung 27" as my secondary.
The only thing I dislike is that my connection on the new screen is Displayport, so when it switches off or enters powersave mode the monitor totally disappears for Windows, so then my secondary screen becomes main.

But unfortunately that's just a Displayport thing, nothing you can do about it.

YOu can get much better value with a normal display, the curvedness is gimmicky anyway.

Yeah, it's not a feature to shop for. After a week of use your brain is so used to it that it just appears flat. The only screens where it becomes decent is on those super wide/flat screens where it curves around you.

In terms of size, the bigger you go, what would you reckon the most important thing to go for is? ie refresh rate, resolution, response time? Obviously if you want all you going to have to fork out more, just curious to get a better understanding before buying any of the above.

Resolution.

A response time 4ms looks the same on a 24" vs a 32"
A refresh rate of 60hz looks the same on a 24" vs a 32"
A resolution of 1080p looks fine on a 24", but will look terrible on a 32"

I still think for 1440p, 27" is the sweet spot. For 32" 4K would be great.
For work, 4K is absolutely amazing, even at 27" if your eyes are good enough. Getting a GPU to give good performance on 4K is a bit more difficult.
I have a 4K I use mainly for work and 144hz 1440p monitor I use mainly for gaming and both are the best at what I use them for.

Have a nvidia gtx 1060ti in my laptop so that should be ok as a driver. @barbarian, what are the brands and models of your monitors? also what would you recommend in the 27 range?

It's not like you pay extra for curved. So as you say, after a week it feels flat, why then not get one?

It's bollocks btw. I have a 34 ultra wide (21:9) curved and a 32 (16:9) curved and they both have given me a more immersive experience over all flat screens I had, especially whilst gaming.

I also have less eye fatigue since I moved to curved.

It should be fine in older games, but it depends on your standards. My 1080Ti can't play modern games at 4K at high quality settings, but my friend says he plays RDR2 on 4K with his 1060Ti.

I have the Dell P2715Q, which is a very colour accurate 4K IPS monitor which I got for photo editing. With Dell, the P designates the range, 27 the size, and 15 the model year.
My gaming monitor is the Dell S2721DGFA, nano IPS for accurate colours as well. It replaced my Mecer K3G3R 31.5" monitor. To be honest, once you adjust the gamma a bit, my old Mecer and gaming Dell looks pretty similar in the one game I tested. The Dell has much better response time, but the larger 31.5" size is really impressive.

I would recommend the S2721DGFA for a gaming 1440p monitor.
For a 4K monitor neither the one have nor it's replacement (U2718Q) is in stock at wootware. It really depends on what's important to you. I would recommend you get something with a VESA mount if you go for 27" 4K. You will want to have the display relatively close to your face if you run it at 100% scaling.
