sounds like a movie hey?
well thats how long it has taken me to log on and type this and send this... amidst the 619 and 30 errors... and a speed of "Your line speed is approximately 31.2 Kbps or 3.8 kBytes/sec"

oh man i want out....

in 3 months time i will have had my 3g contract for 2 years, in the beginning we were told, new technology it will get better, in the beginning i had overall better service than i do now. if i called the helpdesk someone would answer and help me, now there are too many people signed up and if we lucky we get a call back...
big ups to v3g who has been our only true support.... but seriously guys what do i do now? v3g will ask me to pm him and coz of his connections someone will be at my house in the next day or two and tell me AGAIN yup there is something wrong on your tower and its going to get fixed... and then for a while it might be ok again, and then it will be crap again and the cycle goes on.... how can the 3g at my office be perfect for 2 years? and why the 3 g at house always full of crap?.... yeah yeah v3g i understand about wireless and how many things can affect performance etc.... but damn its just an ongoing headache... yeah someone will come fix again, and then we start all over again... i dont feel like playing this game anymore......

oh crap lost connection again.... quick select all copy paste to word...... hold on just got to reconnect

back... sorry guys, had to rant. not fun anymore

Sounds like you are misserable.

Can I make a suggestion? It seems to be a vodacom signal related problem, so why not try an MTN payg data card? You can buy one for like R5 - put R30 airtime on it, load a R10 bundle and see how it works. If it's dandy, then switch!

Vodacom can't unfortunately maintain perfect 3g coverage. In my area, the is no 3g coverage with vodacom. Only with MTN - I will use MTN, until vodacom can get me stable coverage in my area (there is a voda tower right near by)

I guess I'm lucky I've moved 4 times in the last year and a half and use the HSDPA card most places I travell to and up to now I've been pleasantly suprised by the coverage and stablity been online for 25 hrs right now and before that 64 hr before having to go to a meeting with my laptop.
A 619 error is normaly not because of signal strengh.

This is all too familiar, but oh what I would do to get great speeds like you experience - 1.5 kBytes/sec if I'm lucky (although I must admit I got 4-5 kBytes/s this morning at 5am - but who really wants to live like that?). But more annoying are the 619 dropouts - I continually curse anyone who send me an email of more that a few kBytes - takes quite a few trys and a lot of Mbs to finally get my email (and that of course via vodamail!) I eventually had my normal email forwarded to my vodamail address, so I only have to fight one pop server!

Maybe the answer is to move on... but of course not with my existing number!
