3d Printers South Africa

was the model designed for PLA or PETG?
They did not say. It was just some articulated toys for my kids. Not a big deal. Just wondering if there is something that I am doing wrong. Or if there is something that I am missing. The PETG was a new spool from sealed so not much time to absorb moister yet. PLA is working well.

Imo filament that needs to be dried should still be dried even after opening fresh rather than relying on it being dry.

This is something I would like to try printing for myself

14 Hour print for someone at work. A bunch of hours applying Crack filler (couldn't get wood filler), primer, sanding, rinse and repeat to get it like that. Pretty happy with the outcome.

FYI...the connector options in Orca Slicer have improved significantly since the last time I had cut parts.

It didn't sting, which form my understanding is an indicator of wet petg. I found that the finer parts got fused together somewhat. Anyways, I'll have to invest in a dryer some time and try agian.

Tomorrow is my 1 week anniversary of owning my first 3d printer. It's amazing!

This evening I made my first 3d model (it's a strainer thing) . I'm holding thumps that it prints out OK. It has lots of supports and I hope it won't be hard to remove them all.

Edit: it printed fine. The supports were a nightmare to remove but I got it done xD. I'll try painting supports next time.

Hi All! Does anyone know of a company that can do large resin prints? The parts that I need to print are quite large, so the company probably needs to have a Formlabs 4L or something similar....

Thanks!

Been a while since I printed a model to paint. I've been doing mostly functional / utility stuff. Found this one on Thingiverse and it looked interesting. Bit smaller than I expected, even printing it at 200% scale.

Cool feature on bambu printers that lets you skip parts. Had a big print, two thin parts fell over and the printer paused from all the stringing. Skipped the fallen parts and continued with the rest.

I am able to do this on my K1c with klipper as well, it works so well, just skip the failed part and continue with the rest.

I can do it on my k1 max stock

Good to know, my K1c did a benchy and the side spool holder with stock firmware and then got rooted from there, so don't have too much info regarding the stock firmware, but it is a cool feature!

Ive used this option on the Bambu app, never seen the option on the screen. Did you have to go into the settings or how did you get to that menu?
