Has anyone tried these guys? https://www.printordie.co.za/

Established last year. They have some clone items that I am thinking about playing with but I also don't really want to waste money trying them out...

I just see red flags when I look at their website but maybe someone here actually knows who they are and maybe worth giving it a shot if thats the case...

Ive never heard of them before TBH. do they have anything that DIY electronics or 3d printing store does not?

They have an E3D V6 24V clone that I want to mess around with. I did not feel like fiddling with a step down to get the 12V ones that DIY has in stock working.

Finally opened my LD-002R that I bought in Oct last year!

The factory fitted FEP had a small hole in the bottom corner, probably from when they packed it, so changed it immediately. Luckily bought a few extras at the time...

Jumped straight in with fitting a Wham Bam flex plate, then used the basic settings from another 3D resin group for the suggested exposure, lift, speed, etc for Monocure Rapid grey.

Spent this morning reading up various things and watching videos on resin printing.

Approx 3hr print, so let's see what happens, will up some pics when it's done and supports are off - will cure tomorrow in the sun while I wait for my 12v UV strips and 3mm leds to arrive

Printing some self designed add-on detail items for my 3D FDM printed Willy's Jeep in 1/8 scale.

First two parts came out rather well, considering the tiny size, with each part being about 25mm in length - just needs some post print work and sanding - cured rather well using a nail UV lamp that my SO had, but never used.

The next print I started then detached from the build plate after 4-or-so layers, so adjusted the base exposure times upwards to see if that helps.

So I'm almost finished the 1/8 scale Willys Jeep - 99% FDM printed (bought the 1/6 scale and downsized to 75% for the 1/8 scale I wanted). Also experimenting with a few added resin printed parts that are too small/detailed for FDM. The model's turned out rather well so far. All put together with 2mm and 2.5mm screws (lots of them!) sourced from JKM in Randburg.

Added some scratch-built and self-designed details such as the antenna (guitar string and heatshrinkI pieces), antenna base and mount, leather door straps (the buckles, catches, etc. are FDM printed), reflectors, bumper rope, bumper hitches, brake lines, some engine details, etc. Used Tamiya TS sprays to paint, acrylic for the details.

Dash dial decals and other decals laser printed on old CD label paper.
Had to design the stenciled lettering from scratch, which was then FDM printed about 1mm thick and carefully sprayed onto the various body parts, after masking everything.

Also added working front, rear and bumper lights (white/red 3mm LED's) and a functioning switched 12v "battery" in the engine bay.
Designed and resin printed the radio part, grill oil cooler and fire extinguisher (a few posts above), whish still have to be finished and painted up, so will hopefully add these and finish this project in the next 2 weeks.

It was a great project overall :)

The original .stl files can be bought from André Tessier via ESTY in either 1/10, 1/8 or 1/6 scale - very reasonably priced, given the detail of the model and the instructions that are provided: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TessierWork
His FB group is here and there is great support provided: https://www.facebook.com/groups/246470796875425
All my progress updates are also posted there if you want more details on the progress and pictures of the project. Here's some random pics of various things. Shout if you want some more pictures of any part.

Love the attention to detail on that willys jeep ! I have been now sitting looking at your work for over 20 mins....

I am now at this point: https://www.diyelectronics.co.za/store/356-printers.

Thanks for sharing your project.
Many thanks, glad you enjoyed them

It's a great hobby and I'm very selective of the models/figures I print. The last big project was an SR71 at 1/32 scale, over a meter long! I think I posted some pics earlier in this thread.

Also busy with the Gambody millennium falcon, but it's taking an age; started in 2019...

Once you have a 3D printer, you'll find things to print!

Meh, I started getting thermal runaway errors yesterday. Really not in the mood to replace my hotend.
