thats what i noticed :D

luckily the other spray covered everything up :)
I posted this somewhere in the thread. Without primer. You only need primer if you want to use a paint that doesn't stick to plastic. But it will also bring out the texture.

Before spray paint:

Metallic black with a light copper finish over.

Just the metallic black.

This time printed with black Fillament to reduce the amount of spray paint required.

With paint:

But I don't print anymore. Gave up on my piece of crap and realised I have other priorities that needs attention before I can justify spending money to replace it with something better.

Why when I print finer, e.g. 0.12 - do the prints get knocked off the bed during the print? If I print 0.2/0.16 - everything is fine.

EDIT: Reading this - it sounds familiar, pretty sure I've had this problem before.

What would you guys consider to be the 'holy grail' 3d printer right now? Basically, best resolution, most versatility, cheapest to buy etc?

My personal opinion, as a beginner , the flash forge adventurer 3 is amazing! Only drawback is the smaller build size, but as a all in one , it’s almost a “click n print” , material wise, abs and petg is easy on this printer

Advancing a bit, to a more hands on printer, the ender 3/pro/pro v2 ( they basically the same machines) is the next go to, customisers dream machine! , draw back is abs / petg is a bit iffy

Going forward from here is a route that only you can work out based on what you want to accomplish going forward , be it only a hobby , or you want to do something more with it

Its mostly when your settings are out slightly. The more layers there are the more an error compounds. In most cases it will be the diameter of the filament that's either over standard, varies along the filament, is oval or you set it to less in you config.

If I had to guess I would say levelling, the "thicker" you layers are the more forgiving the squish is but it might be that it is good enough for 0.2 but at 0.12 it is just a little too far away?
Are you using a BLTouch?

No BLTouch - doubt its bed level, releveled numerous times in between.

RE: Filament - also don't think so, I've had the same thing with 3 different brands, trying again now after cleaning everything over the weekend.

I had to print a .5mm wide by 2mm high little adaptor this morning, to try and fix one of my daughters toys - surprised it worked

Glass bed right? Printing straight on the glass or do you have a PEI sheet or something like that on it?

It might be worth printing a leveling print at the 0.12 and manually leveling while it prints so you can see what it is doing and so seeing why it is not sticking properly?

Lastly, have you tried hair spray or glue stick? I use a little bit of hair spray when I am having difficulty and that works quite well.

I have been struggling with under-extrusion for a couple of days now and have not been able to figure out what the hell is wrong... This morning I found the issue.

I think I need a new extruder...

Glass bed, its not a sticking problem - the print is stuck solid, so it literally pushes it to fall over. Seems better though after cleaning, I'll try the print that usually fails often a little later to see how it goes.

Aaah I misunderstood. The hotend is physically pushing on the print and causing it to fall over? Is it happening at the same height or roundabout? It could be your z-axis rod lubrication or some dust causing the z-axis to not climb as expected because of resistance? The silicone lube mine shipped with gathered dust like crazy so I was having layer lines in my print because of dirt.
Just replaced mine with the aluminum dual gear one over the weekend.
Just got a regular old aluminum one that is on the way...

It's one of the things I suspected, so cleaned and relubed it over the weekend.

Couldn't really tell if its the same place, but its within the first 30min each time, this is the model:

Now battling under-extrusion with the the new extruder, so going to try figure that out before trying again - think flow at 105% is about right. with my current enclosure, I actually think I should go to direct drive.

Did you recalibrate the extruder e-steps after fitting? I had to when I changed mine... the setting was different to the stock extruder
