I have a colleague visiting from the USA with is laptop.
He has the need for speed during his visit for 3 weeks.

Would his only option to be the prepaid one at R2.00 per MB (ouch!!) plus having to purchase the 3G card?

Who sells the card stand alone and for how much?

TIA

Also make sure 3G is available in your area, otherwise GPRS will be used.

Even though i'm a happy Vodacom customer i'm not going to be blind to offers out there, so here's a hint:

MTN offer their bundles on prepaid now, which means you can get 100MB for R100 and
1GB for R500 [basically you convert your prepaid airtime into bundles]. Of course MTN's 3G coverage do not match Vodacom's, but if you are in a main city then you probably would have *some* coverage...there's always EDGE too.

As for the card, I believe you are going to pay minimum R2000+ for a card if you buy it cash, mostly you will find it at Vodacom. Alternately i'd probably just go for a 3G+EDGE+GRPS cellphone [since there isn't a card with all 3 abilities], and use it as a modem.
