i have a small question/issue that i hope can be resolved...

i had a 3g card for a laptop and then had it swapped for the new 3G/hsdpa card for laptops - my problem is that i installed the new software over the other previous version on the laptop and restarted and then was never asked to insert the new card.

i started the software and created a new profile when i was asked for the card done everything like i should but it doesn't pickup the card and complains there is a problem with the sim. Also the light on the card pulses red.

after uninstalling and reinstalling several time is was no closer to using it with the same error everytime with the light pulsing.

I did try it in another laptop and it worked fine the first time round perfectly (keeping in mind that it was the first time it was installed on the second test laptop). So i know both the card and the sim is working perfectly so too the software.

did anybody else have the same issues??? and how do i resolve this issue??

Which 3G card did you have previously?

If it was the Novatel Merlin U630, and you're still on V6 of the dash, there is a problem with two files that you must delete or rather rename.

/windows/system32/nwt*.dll

Otherwise try version 7, which you can download from www.vodacom.co.za. It should resolve this problem.

Vodacom3G, where in the Cape Town Northern Suburbs can I find a HSDPA card? I want to swap my old card, but the nearest Vodashop has been unable to supply me with a card. I have been waiting since the start for the swap.

The Vodashop and / or Datashop in Tygervalley should be able to help you.

Had the same problem when trying to use the U740 card after using the Option card with V6 dash. SIM could not be found etc..

Installed V7 of the Dash and works fine, only thing is I cannot get HSDPA with the U740 but do with the Option.
