@Gringgs, i plugged the modem straight into the back of the PC with the same result only this time i could access the Cell C website and it was very quick browsing that site, but wouldn't load any other sites?

What does that mean?

Check iof they RiCA your sim. Check if you can see a balance when you click on balnce in the dashboard.

Just to report that the Dlink DIR451 does support the Huwaei E1820 from Cell C. Working well.

Click Setup (manual) and select:

Interface type: WWAN
Type: PPP

Country: None
ISP: None
Modem: with the two selections above, the entire range of supported devices appears. Select the E1820.

In settings, I have:

Dial: *99#
Auto PAP+CHAP
APN: internet
Connect type: Always On

SAVE these settings. On reboot - click on the STATUS tab and if necessary click CONNECT - although the router should have connected automatically to Cell C (if you selected Always On).

I also have the Dovado UMR (from Neotel time) but giving the DIR451 a shake as I had some reception issues using the Dovado. Need to state that this may have been on the client side (Apple Ipad & Iphone 4) rather than the server side.

Enjoy.

ps If anyone is interested in acquiring an Option 3G data card (unlocked) please PM me! Actually, while I'm at it, I've also got an Iburst desktop modem and a Dupont/Neotel phone for sale! :erm:

Thanx for the info. Currently using this router with my E220 and will now connect my cellc 1.

i finally recieved my AirLive Air3G modem, however i can not seem to get this damn 3g modem to work! I managed to configure all settings within the console, chose 3G connection, ensured the APN = "Internet", number *99#, saved rebooted, but the modem does not initiate the internet connection. I also upgraded to the latest firmware thinking this might resolve it but nada :( .... I am using the E1752 modem and this router defintely supports this as per specs. It also detected within the console as well.

Modem works perfectly fine when connecting it directly to my laptop loading the cell c software etc but NOT from the router. any assistance will be highly appreciated.

Do you have a PIN set up on your SIM card ? If so, have you entered it into the router console ?

no pin setup on my sim card. there is also no option to change the pin number from the cell c software when trying to use modem via laptop. Enable Pin function is also disabled. Cannot enable. either way I have used it with a pin number 0000 (as per box) and without on the router console with no luck :( i just hope i have not wasted money on this damn router :(

I have seen that router work with an E1820, just not with an E1752, but, as you say, it is on the supported list !

I see you set APN to Internet. Not sure if these things are case sensitive, but try internet (all lower-case) as well. Also how does it dial? Is there an auto-connect or manual dial option?

tried every possible combination....no luck. this router like every other i assume has 2 methods of initiating internet connectivity from the modem. i.e. Operation Mode: Keep Alive and On Demand

none of the above works with the E1752. also the following is displayed in the router event log. Air3G daemon.err pppd[2187]: Can't open options file /etc/ppp/peers/gprs:

tried to research this error but no luck as well. oh, updated firmware as well....nothing....emailed tech support....thinking of returning this modem and bundle for the E1820.

Why don't you just use the modem on your PC and have your PC setup as a WiFi hotspot. Thats what I'm doing with my modem.

Sitecom 3G router WL-326 with CellC 21.6 Mbps Speed Stick

I managed to get the two working with the following settings:

Make sure that you have the latest firmware (v1.8)
Download & flash both files
Use Wizard
Choose Mobile 3G
Login Method: Mobile 3G
Pin Code: <leave blank>
APN Code: internet
Phone Number: *99***1#
User Name: <leave blank>
Password: <leave blank>
Type: Keep Connection
Hit Apply

I just placed the router in a convenient spot, not where I could get optimum signal. (signal level 49%)
I then did a speed test and got 5.5M download - I'm happy.

Can anyone point me to the specifications of the D105 please?

edit: never mind, it doesn't seem to have an internal modem.
