Billion routers and CellC modems
I'm trying to find out whether my router (Billion 7402NX) will work with the CellC modems. The supported modem list (http://www.billionsa.com/compatible-3G.html) looks out of date, as does the current firmware available for download. I've just received the latest firmware version for the router, but without release notes there's no way of telling whether these modems will work. Billion SA say the best way to find out is to test the modems (?!!!). Is anybody out there using these routers and modems?
I've been using an E272 until now, connected to a Poynting antenna and it's been very good. I'm really sorry I can't continue with this. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to use the antenna with the new USB modems (no connectors) but I see Poynting seems to have an answer for this (http://www.poynting.co.za/directorylisting/displaycommercial.aspx?dirid=55#prodlist=3). Anybody used one of these - opinions?

The Cell C E1820 definitely does have an external antenna connector, I haven't seen the E1752 though.
Unfortunately Poynting do not have a compatible pigtail for the E1820 at the moment, but their inductive coupler does work with the E1820.

No, that looks like a peculiarity of the website - it doesn't bookmark the section I wanted. It was under "Couplers for Cellphones and 3G Modems" product A-ADPT-026, but your link is better (for the Direct Sales department).
Glad to hear the E1820 has a connector. I wonder if there's someplace that can just replace the SMA connector on my existing pigtail with a CRC9? Probably be a lot cheaper than R235!

OK, I can confirm that the Netgear MBR624GU (with the latest WW firmware) supports the E1820 on Cell C.

Our routers support a dozen different models of HSPA+ (21Mbps) modems from different suppliers such as Huawei, ZTE, Sierra Wireless, Novatel Wireless, Bandrich and whoever else will come out with it. Not only that, but we seem to be having a very easy time with a prototype 42Mbps modem.
Outside of Internet connectivity, our routers can also utilize the SMS capabilities of the USB modem so that you can remotely control the router from your phone via SMS (and a whole lot more!). You can also check your credit by using our short-number SMS solution.

The E1752 does not have the external antenna connector - but it does have a Micro SDHC slot !

Methinks you would have got a better deal with a TP-LINK MR3420 3G wireless-N router: it has better WLAN performance, is cheaper AND would have been in warranty; but hey, that's just my opinion...

How do I connect my xbox 360 to the TP-LINK MR3420? My xbox has a LAN port and no wireless. I dont want to buy a wireless kit fot the xbox as my pc has a wireless conncetion and can connect to the router.
LAN Cable from the xbox to the router?

Hello I need some advice on the Netgear 624 Router is it capable or receiving 21 MBPS or just the standard HSDPA 7.2MBPS. Advice will be much appreciated.

It's the modem that is capable of 21mbps, not the router.
The Netgear MBR624GU router (with the latest firmware) supports the E1820 21mbps modem.
The bottlenecks on the router would be the 480mbps USB2 speed, the 54mbps Wifi G speed, and the 100Mb Ethernet speed, all of which are way faster than the 21mbps E1820 modem.
There is also the efficiency of the Netgear MBR624GU hardware / software to consider, but that seems OK.
