I bought a Netgear model MBRN3000 with the added docking station from IC but the unit replies with an incompatible error on the white dongle from CellC. Did you have to do a firmware upgrade to get it working ? Works well on Voda.
Which white dongle from Cell-C, Huawei or ZTE?

I am not sure but it is the package that they sell and the dongle looks like a memory stick. ( You get the white and the black one) I do not have it with me but can check this evening.

Yes, checked last night..........it is the ZTE MF 190 modem. Any suggestions ?

1) Contact Netgear and ask them why there is no support
2) Buy a compatible modem
3) Buy a compatible router

Hi

Does anyone know what N-spec 3G wireless routers work with Cell-C's ZTE MF668 3G speed stick? I've searched this thread right through, but there doesn't seem to be any clear answer as to which 3G routers are definitely compatible!?

I've used my Air Live Air3G router with a Vodafone Huawei K3565-Z for over a year with no trouble at all, but my new MF668 doesn't seem to be compatible :(

Thanks!

I'll buy your Air Live from you if you want to sell.

Does anyone know if there is any progress on TP-Link building in USSD codes or balance checking into their firmware?? Any other ways to check balance without plugging modem into computer?

@Derek

I believe a number of the forumites have gone with the following kit from Uniterm. It includes a TP Link Router, Antenna and coupler for the modem to connect it to the antenna. http://www.dbg.co.za/product_info.php?cPath=32_35&products_id=663 You can also speak to the Uniterm guys they are very helpful. They can also assist you with firmware updates in order to make the ZTE modem work.

FYI Cell_C is releasing a new 3G WI-FI router/ moden

MyZone is a Wi-Fi router that creates a wireless hotspot or network, thus allowing the user to share their mobile broadband internet connection across multiple devices. This include notebooks, PC , smartphones and tablets
