Just heard that vodacom 3G ad about all the locations u can use 3g from - Is there still 3G signal in a lift? What about all that attenuation caused by all that steel?

My point exactly. Recently vodacom ads are getting rather stupid.

well i suppose it would be nice to know that in the odd event you get stuck in between the 2 levels of the shopping mall you're in for more than 3 seconds that you will be able to send the email to get help in 0.001 second and not 0.005 seconds. i mean wtf would you call if you can send a email with your 3G connection

well if you rely on 3G for that then it at least explains why you have to always wait like 20 minutes for the lift to get to you at sandton city.
