It's like finally managing to put your car into second gear.

I took my LPDA antenna to my dad's place yesterday, walked around the garden with a laptop in one hand and the antenna attached to a mop in the other, managed to get -88dBm. The signal seemed to be coming from the direction of the Zum Bacchus tower. What concerns me though, is I've heard this tower is going to be decommisioned. At Ginggs, it must be the Stellenbosch tower (or one from the Cape Flats) your dad is picking up at Helderberg Village. No signal on the 'sea side' of the mountain.. Thanks though.

Round about here: 34°02'44"S, 18°50'06"EWhere is the Zum Bacchus tower located?
Where is the Zum Bacchus tower located? I must say, the signal seems to be quite strong through out the whole of S-West. Over the weekend I was in Gordens Bay, and got a weak 3G signal there also against the mountain.
But I now do experience 1 problem since I've got 3G. There seems to be a block/delay for all incoming SMSs. People would send me SMSs, and only when I leave the 3G area (on my way to Stellenbosch) do they suddenly come in with a flood..
I must actually follow this up with MTNDD/MTN Network Guy.
