3G Speed in Rondebosch/Rosebank/Mowbray Area

Connected to 3G from HSDPA modem...

Speeds here are terrible, measured it shows 124.01kbps... (gamco)

However when downloading/browsing never get above 3.0Kbps. The 3G signal ranges between 3 and 5 bars of signal (5 - full signal).

Any ideas??

Very possible I guess, I find that forcing the modem to EDGE like I am doing now gives me much faster speeds, than 3G.

Guys I just got a call on Friday from the Network Performance Manager advising that traffic from CT should be a lot better, if you're still having a problem or if it has gotten better please let me know?

Seems much faster this week. I'm running HSDPA with 29% Signal (-95dB) and my speeds are:

708.40kbps

which means you can download at 88.55 KB/sec. from our servers.

Pages load quickly and smoothly.

i recieved video calls last night even though no 3G icon on my phone , something
"fishy" going on at the moment with 3G in Cape Town.
