Yea mine shows an EEEEE too when I enter their code.

I had a token fail to load months ago and I went through the double code thing with Eskom over the phone. I assume I'm upgraded but not sure how to confirm it when their instructions just don't work :ROFL:

Tried calling their customer number and it just immediately dies.

You do what he did, buy a token where you can get a receipt and check the KRN.

Yeah, I think the biggest win Eskom can get out of this is to eliminate ghost vendors and then hope to get some of that revenue.

I don't know how that make sense to you, you are going to buy electricity anyway because that is what we do, instead of buying online you just buy at a physical vendor to see if your meter is upgraded.

I just bought a token from prepaid24.co.za Got a full receipt with lots of stuff including the KRN number. I suppose they would also then give the upgrade tokens if need be.

Yes, we use a third party vendor in the complex and we got the upgrade tokens recently.

I usually buy through FNB and they send the SMS, but guess I'll have to head to the Engen on the corner and get a physical receipt. You're right. Nothing else for it. No biggie. Was needing to purchase more units anyway.

The FNB purchasing was actually what caused me to have to do the code entry months ago anyway. The token wouldn't be accepted and I needed to enter 2 numbers provided by Eskom and then it accepted the token.

so on tiktok some videos say EEEE is fine but buy a R10 by checkers or something they can tell you if you on the krn2

even the slip says krn2
 
If I understand this right, if you don’t update your meter by the 24th of November 2024 it will brick itself and you then can’t unbrick it with a token. You’ll have to replace it with a new model befor any electricity will flow again?

If that’s really the case it’s going to possibly cause a few minor* inconveniences countrywide.

Just I know some people that buy for 6 months at a time in batches. So it forcing them to buy now when they might still have a ton of units left. I work for a prepaid company and going through TID rollover and we are seeing people buy that do not really need to buy as they buy in bulk. It a quick cashflow inject at the moment.

Better to look on meter to see if have rolled over and if not just contact whoever is your provider and ask them for the 2 tokens.

Did this. Quick and easy. It's KRN2. That was the upgrade I did with the Eskom folks last time.

Don't people that buy for 6 months in advance pay higher fees per unit?

I always assumed Eskom calculated the rate on prepaid as units purchased per calendar month.
