I always find it great when an ISP says your area is covered, when it is not.

I always find that the outskirts of an area are not covered. Why not? View image below.

I also notice that areas close to the beach, signal would drop into the ocean side but not cover the outside skirts of the actual area. Obviously in this case they dropped the tower on the beach road.

How do they determine or plan for coverage? Do they somehow measure traffic and based on that decide? Or are they just babbelas on the day of planning?

The range of the signal is much further if you have line-of-sight to the tower.
The sea is pretty flat, so you can go a long way and still see the tower.

The signals that the maps are based on are measured outdoors.
On the outskirts of a coverage area you might have a signal outdoors, but not indoors.

I am not even close to a coverage point with telkom LTE but I had it tested and I get a ping of about 30ms and max download of 34mbps most of the time, so have a rep come out and test it.

What would be the best way to get a Rep out for testing? I've submitted the form on Telkom's site more than 3 weeks ago, no one has contacted me though. Any pointers?
