If you had to choose between 4K 60hz or 1080p 120hz, which would you choose?
I will be upgrading my current budget 4K Samsung tv during the course of the year with the old tv going to my brother. Now this will be for streaming and gaming with streaming probably taking up the most screen time for me and I've read a few conflicting threads that mention a 1440p monitor does not upscale 1080p video content very well resulting in a slightly blurry image so if you do watch video content on a 1440p monitor please comment on your experience? Soo... if 1440p is out the question, which would you choose for streaming and gaming? A 1080p 120hz monitor or a 4K 60hz tv?
On one hand video content is mostly shot at 24fps and 120 is a multiple of 24 so a 120hz monitor should smooth out any jitter without the need for bad tv processing but 1080p is in no way future proofing. On the other hand gaming at 60hz is easier to achieve for gaming and is good enough but a TV'S smoothing settings are kinda hit or miss.
