dam i have not been here for a longgg... time
just readin up on some posts and thought i would add something i just read here at work.

"Telkom customers to benefit from a 4 Mbps service trial

Telkom Home and BusinessDSL 1024 customers will get a whole lot more from their high-speed DSL access to the Internet as of September 2006 when the DSL 1024 offering will be increased to an up-to 4 megabits per second speed on a trial basis."

"if the trial proves successful Telkom intends replacing the DSL 1024 product with the new up to 4Mbps service."

hm... makes me think.

The existing services will be amended to “Up to” services as follows:

192 and 384 change to “DSL up to 384kbps” - Profile should be:
Down stream: min 256kbps; max 384kbps
Up stream: min 64kbps; max 128kbps

512 change to "DSL up to 512kbps" - Profile should be:
Down stream: min 416kbps; max 512kbps
Up stream: min 192kbps; max 256kbps

1024 change to "DSL up to 4Mbps" - Profile should be:
Down stream: min 640kbps; max 4096kbps
Up stream: min 256kbps; max 384kbps

Trial is good, unfortunately my ISP supplied Cisco router doesn't work on the newly installed 4mb trial service. Have requested downgrade from 4mb to 1mb (no response to date), but in our case, we don't have the luxury for trials when the service is for critical 'business' use. Anyone have any ideas on how to possibly resolve?

What happened to trialing inhouse with all the "t3lkom dictated" ICASA approved ADSL routers?
