The article is here

So either we had undead voters popping by for a quick electoral left for dead match, or these people really are alive or 500,000 deceased identities were used to rig the vote....

So we had solid proof they were not deceased because they had physically presented themselves for registration.

a logical conclusion is that seeing as 500,000 dead people must have shown up to register, they must have been alive... flawless logic there.

So people?

Undead / Alive / Rigging?

I smell the rotting corpse of honesty around the corner....

Let me guess they all voted ANC? I smell fraud here. More and more corruption every day

"In 2006, we had about, I think it was 500 000 people, who were indicated as deceased according to the Population Register. But they had physically come to the voting stations to register.

I think the more logical explanation here is that the Population register is at fault here again.

The question that should be asked is: Did those dead people actually make it to polling stations? If you can answer that one in the affirmative you might have a case of voter fraud(highly unlikely) but I tend to agree with Fudzy...there's definitely something up with the population register.

I'll be taking my shotgun to the polling station :D and my axe. Every gamer knows those are the two best zombie bashing weapons out there ;)

Or maybe the illegal immigrants got a head start in their ID applications.

Dead voters made their mark

Cape Town - Half a million officially "deceased" people had tried to register to vote in the last municipal election, the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) said on Tuesday.

Here's a possible explanation for this issue:

A lot of these people commit insurance fraud by having themselves declared dead; they even have connections that can issue them with dead certificates, and who can update the systems. My sister works for a leading financial services company and they have unearthed just such a scam; people collecting R10k - R15K on funeral policies - fake doctors and Home Affairs staff involved in the whole scam. When their forensic auditor went to physically visit the "deceased" though, they were still very much alive.

Looks as if it could be the same people who went and registered for elections. Could well be.
