So app game selling a 500gb toshiba external hdd for R900 - anyone know what hdd it is e.g. is it a seagate like the iomega special incredible con are running...?

I haev no idea, but the specs are identical to the drive in the Iomega that IC had on offer if that's on any help...

The iomega drive was a Seagate - i'd like someone with one of these to do a test and let me know what drive that is, loath to have some cheap piece of kark - would love it if it was seagate...

Well you could always call up a Game store and ask them what kind of drive is in it and see what they have to say

So IC special for 500gb omega seems to be non existent anymore - buddy gonna go buy this drive on thurs - will try take a peek and see what it is and post here - if its decent im buying one too.

I will find out on thurs - if its class i'll get one on friday but murphies law they will be gone - maybe i'll just get my buddy to check for me as to what brand they are or phone game.

AFAIK Toshiba make their own, and compete with Seagate, WD etc. Some of the reviews on new egg are also very favourable. I think I need to get one as well.......

Duh! That is a good point you make! I had an 80GB Toshiba HDD myself.

It was great - was very quiet and never gave me a day's trouble!

Well there you go then...go get yourself one. Toshiba, are more focussed on laptop drives these days, and are bigger sellers than both Seagate and WD

Because it could be any drive in that casing - duh - and they dont provide a model number to google.

It does seem to suggest that it's a Toshiba drive which means it's a good deal. Wonder what warranty Game will give on it...
