Hey guys

I have been getting really slow speeds lately at night, basically in peak time. Is there anyone else experiencing this? I get speeds of about 20mbps the most it goes up too is 40. I normally get speeds of 340.

It is the same here. Speeds are up and down. Especially the upload is way down. The signal is also worse than normal. Wonder if the lockdown and increase internet usage is the cause of this.

Not only have our speeds been horrible the last couple of days (Me and another guy in the complex that also has 5G)
But we have a lot of connection drops at random times for up to a minute at a time. Yesterday I could not play any online game without getting constantly disconnected, we could basically not watch Netflix at all as well. It buffers for almost 2 minutes and plays not even 10 seconds of video then buffers again.

Contacted Rain and after almost an hours wait on the chat, I was told that there are no tower issues in the area they can pick up and I had to reset my router to factory defaults then switch it off for a couple of minutes and connect again, and then to contact them :|

This morning I am not even getting 5mb down and 1mb up (I'm on the R1000 package that usually gives me 450mb down) And I have been in position 40 something in the queue on their support for almost 20 minutes.

I have also been wondering if it could be congestion but it has been really bad and at the most odd times so i think its network related. I dont even do the live chat anymore as i restart router and do factory reset regularly. I just hope they can start being more stable and reliable if i had the option of fibre id take it over this 5G any day.

Online gaming is a complete mess and is frustrating when you cant enjoy a match on local servers even never mind European servers

Where you based in pta i have no issues with throughput but i get the feeling that my ping has some issues. Can’t kill anyone online

The connection also drops at random times. The 4G signal dropped from 5 bars to 1/2 bars. Gaming also has been a problem, but my main worry is that I need to have a stable internet connection for varsity work and even my parents that are working from home. Also on the R1000 deal.

Ping: 20ms
Download: 23.11Mbps
Upload: 1.33Mbps

my speeds used to be upwards of 200 in Jan , I have an open ticket with rain dated back to January ,

But i'm in the same boat at the moment .
They told me i need to downgrade my 5G package.
I also have the 4G package with the same issue .

Because when the Tech was here and tested we were getting just over 20Mbps , And they guarantee speeds of up to 30Mbps.

Edit : I'm Currently on the R999 5G

Yes but also no. If I am watching a video for one of my modules, and parents are uploading documents and skyping for work. Then that 20 Mbps download and 1mbps upload are useless.
I am still happy that we have some sort of connection but can get frustrating when everyone is using it.

Ya it won’t be enough for the above scenario.

It definitely seems like it could be a congestion issue as speeds increase late at night and is fine early morning. Its still not 100% at those times but its better. What i dont get is how can the 5G and 4G network all of a sudden be so horrible for everyone?

Unless they cutting everyone down just so that everyone can connect? I dont know if that is even possible? Its a complete upset for anyone that uses them to game online so im beyond annoyed.
