Ok here's my problem,

I've been using VM 3G now for just over two months and I'm starting to get very disapointing to it. 70% of the month I either have to restart my computer because of some error 619 and then no signel then it show signal but i recieve like 653bps...

the other 30% is it does actually work But, it looks to me it only works when it wants to... so if something can't be done about this PROBLEM! then good by Vodacom 3g

why?! because my #$%^!! d600samsung GPRS cells phone connect faster than this piece of crap and it's more reliable

tik tok, tik tok...

sorry please explain?

Your heading says "Downtime with VM 3G"

Everyone else on this forum uses VM as short for Virgin Mobile and VC for Vodacom. Since Virgin Mobile don't have a 3G network yet and you have posted in the Vodacom section this thread is confusing:p

if you read some of the other threads you will see you are not alone when it comes to problems with VC 3G. I'm also one of those people

But, sky.akash, you fall outside of 3G coverage according to the coverage map so how can you complain about service which you are getting by chance?

I wonder how many people actually bother checking the coverage map BEFORE rushing out and buying a 3G package and then bleating cos it does not work!

I use my 3G datacard all over KZN during my business travels and have come to accept that where the coverage is weak, then I unfortunately have to live with GPRS speeds - even though this can be painfully slow. Granted, VC have had their problems (as have MTN and CC and VM!), but then any new technology like this is going to have problems as the system expands.

I suppose if the networks in this country had sat back and not deployed 3G/HSDPA as one of the first networks in the world, they would have been slaughtered for this also!

I have had my 3G phone for just over 9months now. I didn't know that I was outside 3G coverage until about a month ago when a data consultant told me this and I verified it on the Vodacom website. But, that's not the point however. In spite of being outside 3G coverage I received excellent speeds for the first 5 or 6 months. Also during the first 3 months I received free data access through the internet apn on my pc. The thing that really gets up my nose is the fact that I'm now being charged the full R2/mb for crappy service. I didn't have any complaints during the period when I was paying and received good service.

Unfortunately there isn't any icon with a middle finger I can use:rolleyes:

If the service is so c...py, and it really gets up your nose, then don't use it - no-one is forcing you to use it - unless Vodacom have resorted to knee-breaking tactics to keep their customers  Oh well, with MNP imminent, I am sure you can change to a different network and hopefully get better service.

Isn't it strange - while we can get away with not paying for a service, we won't dare moan about bad service, but let us have to pay and then it is unacceptable.

And good luck with your middle finger - hope it gets you somewhere.

any normal person paying for a service that doesn't meet expectatons will complain. even on mnp (when it arrives) you will still have to pay early cancellation fees to get out of your contract. so you still get screwed
