Helicopters deployed against vigilante group.
Why nothing deployed against criminals who dig ?
Close up the holes or pump them full of some heavier than air gas to evict the criminals.
Maybe laughing gas, that way the police can track them under ground.

What is the point of that black and white conversation? And you should start a thread instead of derailing this one further.

Of course, deny it exists and it needn't ever be discussed and will go away. Just like the police ignored the Zama Zama's for years while knowing full well about them.

The Zama zamas are just big in the Welkom area mines. Often offering R100's for the legal miners' lunch, sometimes take it by force. If you however get caught even talking to them you are fired. They mine the old 'madala' sites of the still operating mines, staying underground for months at a time. It is a beast that will not easily be slain...

Whatever happened to sealing off old shafts?

I don't think they get sealed effectively s, even concreted up zama zama's find a way past; this from an interview yesterday morning on SAFM. Later on SAFM they had a sound bite from rat in a hat Cele. He truly sounded like a drunk retard.

They brought in contractors and capped off a few shafts near where I stay....even had armed security guarding the crew and machinery...But a.few days later the Zamatjies were back and thery just started digging right next to the old one...

Not sure if I've missed an explanation, but what exactly are 'Basotho nationals' ?

So, more locations in Krugersdorp and Randfontein are also now descending into chaos, protests and violence and heading towards areas where these illegals operate.

Perhaps the ANC should consider getting rid of illegals, start closing and protecting borders and ensure these people stay out for their own safety. The country may become ungovernable if the ANC is going to fail to act here.

Lol at the police reaction only now. Carte Blanche had a clip a while back about the same area and how difficult the job the Pvt security had. They showed night and drone footage highlighting the issue but little to no police reaction.

The police cannot do s**t. I think there are much more behind the Zama Zamas, their operations and profit sharing with highly placed ANC officials than what we think.

Seriously? What self respecting cadre has time to profit share the Zama Zama peanuts? What's wrong with a lucrative tender from one of the many SOEs or one for building a dodgy stadium in Enoch Mgijima municipality?

On second thoughts maybe Carl Niehaus but that's only because that one sticks out like a sore thumb, it's not easy to get him into good things.

This is much bigger business than many would believe.
Family member is a senior manager at one of the private security firms and his team's role is to go after them - a scary job I would not want to do.
