Hello awesome people of mybroadband.
I have a 10Gig promo contract that is ending this month. But I actually like it so I want to carry on with this contract. So I phone 8ta and they say I MUST take a new contract 10+10 for R100 more. I dont need 10Gig more and I dont want to spend R100 more.
Can't I just carry on paying my current montly bill.
I pretty sure that ONLY IF you want to terminate your contract, you should go in and do so, but if you don't do anything, they should just carry on billing, not so? Therefor the package just carries on...

yes if you dont end or upgrade the contract, you will go on a month to month basis at R199
or atleast thats what they told me and everyone else they called a few weeks ago

They losing lots of revenue if they force people to pay more per month for data.

My contract is also expiring this month but I would be more than happy to continue on a month to month basis for R199/10GB.

Mine expires this month(want to go month to month now). Lets see what happens. I took out a twin sim on Sun, works perfectly. Cancelled my 2nd Promo 5 contract as 10 gigs between 2 of us is more than enough using twin sim on 2 ipads. Gave the months notice in June, and cancelled perfectly on time.

Here you go :

What do I need to do, to use Wi-Fi once I am in the Telkom Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot area?

Switch on Wi-Fi on your device and search for Wi-Fi signals. Select Telkom Mobile Connect signal. Choose to use EAP-SIM as mechanism to authenticate to Telkom Mobile Connect. Press connect and open your browser to start surfing the Internet.
