So, with the June approaching fast, I would have had my 8ta package for nearly 2 years.

I know there are some issues we have all been made aware of and discussed previously on the forums with regards to price reverting to its non-discounted price, and how we have to submit 1 month notice to cancel the contract etc etc.

8ta rep, are these contracts upgradeable? Say I want the note on the internet 5 promo for R538, can I just walk in and get the upgrade? How many months before contract expiry can I upgrade? What relevant documents should i bring with?

Also, if the Internet 5 promo is still running, can I upgrade and extend my contract for another 2 years?

What are your guys going to do with your contracts once they expire?

My contract is gonna expire end of June this year, but it's actually perfect.

The 8ta LTE trials will end in March, so beginning April they will start offering the LTE packages with much more data. The CEO mentioned 50GB and other bundles.

Now that will be perfect for me and then I don't gonna get another one now.

Are talking about an upgrade (more features) or an extension (more time) ?

If an extension will cost R538/m, then it's cheaper to take out a second i5 before the R200/m offer expires, even though you will have surplus data while the two will overlap.

I am talking about an upgrade, not interested in running 2 contracts concurrently.
Option is to either :

a. Upgrade to the I5 promo with a galaxy note (R538p/m)
b. Extend the contract by another 24 months (R199 p/m)
c. or like the above poster said, upgrade to LTE once it becomes available.

Main answer I need, is if these 8ta contracts are upgradable like the standard voice contracts over other networks?

Hi Timken

When you pass month 24 of the contract, the contract will continue on a month-to-month basis at the same price.

If you want to cancel the contract, you can cancel it at any time, but penalty fees will apply (if it is in the 24 month contract).

You cannot upgrade the existing Internet 5 Promo contract to a new deal.

You do not require any documentation to upgrade or renew an existing contract.

You can renew your existing Internet 5 Promo at month 22 and the renewal will be effective on month 23 (if the Internet 5 Promo is still available).

We do not have a confirmed end date for the Internet 5 Promo.

Thank you
8ta
