Hi Guys

Has anybody here got the 10GB 8ta running on the Huawei K3765 (Ex Vodacom)?

I am struggling to get this thing to connect. I have mobile partner but it doesn't detect the device.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

It may cause conflicts when you have more than one connection manager installed on the same PC at the same time.

Hi Guys

You need to download the Mobile partner from here.

http://3g-modem.wetpaint.com/page/Huawei+K3765-HV+(Vodafone)

Look for this part:
Method A (use this on a machine where the Vodafone modem has never been plugged in before):

I downloaded and configured for 8ta, works a charm. (He uses rapidshare, be patient, it will eventually give you your download).

Happyness :D

hi using a k3565-z modem, i did find another page from the same site (http://3g-modem.wetpaint.com/page/ZTE+K3565-Z+(Vodafone)) for this modem but i cudnt get that to work either. i decided eventually to try using a spare phone i have, and it works perfectly, using the phone software to connect. this isnt my modem so i don want to debrand it, i just tried to use unbranded software, maybe this modem requires more. anyway thanks guys!

Hi

You only need this software, you don't need the 8ta software. Once installed, you need to select the device and also configure the software for 8ta. If you need more more help give me a shout and I can mail you step-by-step.

I tried unlocking the E220 but when I search for string 53 64 2C 00, I can't find it in the .bin file. Any alternatives?

After quite a bit of tweaking, I managed to get my Tenda 3G 611 R+ router working with my (debranded**) ex-Vodafone Huawei K3765 usb dongle with an 8Ta simcard in it on the 8Ta 10Gb for R199 per month deal.

** I used the Debranding (Permanent) method from this website [warning: this does invalidate the Vodafone guarantee on your dongle]:
http://3g-modem.wetpaint.com/page/Huawei+K3765-HV+(Vodafone)#fbid=CNkpq1wK0Jo

[also first read this mybroadband thread: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/347886-8ta-and-K3765-modem ]

The main settings for my 8ta simcard / Huawei dongle / Tenda router combination are:

WAN MEDIUM

3G Wan enabled

Network Settings:
ISP: OTHER
Pin Code: *leave blank*
Access Point Name (APN): internet
Dial: *99#

Advanced PPP Settings:
Username: *leave blank*
Password: *leave blank*

WLAN SETTINGS

Basic Settings:

Network mode 11b/g/n

IP Addr End: 192.168.0.200
Lease Time: One day

NETWORK STATUS

Primary DNS Addr: 8.8.8.8
Secondary DNS Addr: 196.25.1.9

Connection mode: 3G WAN

SERVICE STATUS

IP Addr: 192.168.0.1
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

OTHER SETTINGS

WPS CONFIG

WPS Settings: enabled
WPS mode: PBC

SECURITY SETTINGS

WPS Auth Mode: WPA2-PSK
WPS Encrypt Type: AES
WPS Default Key Index: 2
Pass Phrase: choose one consisting of 8 to 12 alphanumeric characters and fill it in here - you'll have to type it in on each of the devices you wish to connect to your new wireless network.

Key Renewal Interval: 3600 second

Once the Huawei dongle has been correctly detected by the Tenda, the System Log should show something like this:

3 Search Modem device

Zero-CD device found. vendor=[0x12d1]product=[0x1520].

eject Zero CD device success.

Modem info: Vendor=12d1 ProdID=1451
Manufacturer=HUAWEI Technology Product=HUAWEI

USB modem found

Please do not hesitate to post any other questions about the Tenda / Huawei / 8Ta combination for 3G broadband
