How much data have you pulled this month? More than 5GB?

http://mybroadband.co.za/news/cellu...limits-quietly-launched-on-telkom-mobile.html
Telkom has quietly instituted a fair use limit of 5GB on its BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) package, according to a post on the operator’s Facebook page.
...
“Once data usage reaches 5GB, internet speed reduces to 128kbps or less,” Telkom said.

The mobile network said that users will still be able to download and upload, and that speeds will revert to normal on the first day of every month.

Yep, I've used more than five gigs already! Are there any networks where the bis download speed is fast and not regulated like this? Eg Mtn and vodacom

others are more restrictive.
BIS is meant for browsing and email, not downloads.

Good day ALL;

Kindly note that Telkom Mobile has instituted a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) on products offering unlimited BIS/BES.

Once customers reach 5GB usage per month, their internet speed will be reduced. While they will be still able to upload and download DATA can expect speeds of up to 128Kbps once they have exceeded 5GB within that month. The throttling down will also impact the 500MB allocated for You tube streaming as well.

This decision comes on the back of a review usage of the unlimited BIS/BES benefits. This data benefit was designed for people to use for Email, Social media and web-surfing via their Smart phones. Most of the customers requirement are accommodated comfortable within 5GB per month.

BB internet speed
Kindly find attached Telkom Mobile’s official response to the Blackberry data speed issue.

NB: Please avoid logging case regarding this issue unless all has been genuinely looked into and the symptoms are not of what is communicated above.
