I can't handle this anymore. It's been so long that I've been struggling with the BIS of 8ta that I am willing to quit and get another sim card.

The 8ta signal is strong - I get full bars on 3G, but BIS keeps disappearing. And when you call support, they all make you do the same thing - over and over and then say it will be reported to technical.

Nobody ever comes up with a solution as to why BIS fails?!

I only realise BIS is off again when my phone is quiet for a while. And sure enough, when I check it, it is off again. Then I have to reset the network and it picks it up again.

Why have BIS service and I can't use it???

:(

Is your sim locked or can you roam on MTN? I usually had mine set to MTN, due to a weak signal at home, and never had any problems. :)

I'll try that and will let you know if it works. At my friends place I have to use MTN as the signal is quite terrible there. Yet vodacom and MTN gets full 3G by her.

I've got three 8ta sims and they all default to MTN - the speeds around PE are much faster generally but if MTNs network is saturated I can always switch back to 8ta.

The BIS concept is bound to fail. Whenever you get something unlimited for R59pm you should know that it will only be a matter of time before the service is so bad that you won't be able to use it anymore. Pay for your data like everybody else and you will then actually have something to complain about.

Pay for a service, get a service. Not a difficult concept to understand, is it?

I've locked it to MTN since this afternoon and I've had no disconnections since then. So it seems 8ta is not yet ready to handle BIS on its own?

Hope MTN stays for a long while!

That is not a very true statement. I don't even have mtn 3G in my area only 8ta and I can post a screenshot of 8ta bis using it on the 8ta network and getting 460KB/s dowload speed on a file I downloaded.

So im not the only customer with these problems ....GOOD.

I have used all 4 networks for BIS so far, 8ta disappointed me even with the MTN roaming. I had to remove the simcard.
BAD BAD BIS SERVICE

Sorry for funny question... but to me "BIS" doesn't seems to be widely used acronym. Anybody can tell me what's that "BIS"? :)

I'm using 8ta BIS for the last year now, only issue Ive ever had was for a few months it did not re-activate after i loaded airtime and re-activated it.I had to call the technical division and they had to reset it to get it working but it seems to be fine for the last six months, no issues.

Speeds are fantastic and comparable to the fast speeds I get on my 8ta 10gig promo deal which is in area WAY faster than the other networks.

P.S i normally use 8ta towers only.

Nope, 8ta is the fastest BIS where signal is good. BlackBerry devices are not good in poor signal areas and tend to get stuck on SOS. They also don't like switching from 8ta to MTN Roaming.

Yup 8ta BIS is epic. You can say bis sucks cause it doesn't. You can however say that your coverage os bad or the tower you use is badly congested cause that is most likely the problem not bis it the tower. :)

*ps it was just a test to test 8ta bis and I don't download on bis since I got 4Mbps uncapped adsl. Just showing the speed. :) on a bold 9900 with 8ta sim on the 8ta network but it also allows for MTN roaming
