8ta - Intermittent loss of Internet

Hi All

Been using for about 2 years and it works great in my area, no hassle ever, well that is till a few days ago.

On the 8ta dashboard bottom left i have never got less than a 95% signal, and when doing a speed test the
results was amazing as well. I mainly use my internet for online games and never had an issue with 8ta, but a
few days ago, my games would freeze or crash, i can not access even googel. When i look at the dashboard I
can see the outbound traffic count but the inbound remains at zero. Even after a complete system shutdown and
reboot the result is the same.

The only thing that has changed on my PC is that I have installed the WIN 8 Pro 64 upgrade. Could this be doing something with my 8ta or is there some sort of maintenance going on. I live in Umzumbe on the KZN South Coast.

You're not the only one having issues. Last year I had great speeds, now I'm having issues sending an sms and signal here is so crap, I have resorted to using the wifi for accessing the internet / whatsapp from my cellphone.

I'm generally loving finally having a decent 3G/HSDPA signal out in our very rural area, but it does certainly suffer intermittent breaks during the day. I've found the only remedy (courtesy of The IT Crowd...) is either to switch off and switch on again (in my case my 3G router), or simply sit it out, generally for five or ten minutes when it rectifies itself. But it is annoying.
