From their T&C:
Subscribers shall be migrated to any of the existing internet data offers at the end of the 24 month contract period...

I wonder how old my contract is.

If you still get good speeds, it's a no-brainer.

I get the 3gb promo for R150 a month, i would have liked to get the 10gig for 50 bucks more and maybe have downloaded FarCry 3 if the speeds are good enough, such a pity it is ending... :(

Your current Internet 5 promo contract will continue to be charged at R199 monthly for the duration of the contract that you signed at the beginning of the 24 month contract according to their contract terms. Everyone should read their contract and keep a copy of it in case they might need to refer to it later. Some truly gullible people out there...:whistling:

I think everyone here is aware that we will pay R199 for 10GB for the full 24 months. The question is: What happens afterwards?

According to their terms and conditions we will have to pay the normal contract price which is around R1k per month for 10GB. Of course nobody wants to pay that price so we will have to cancel the contracts at the end of the 24 month period. i.e. unless they let us continue on month to month at R199. I've got another 8 months left on mine so I'll see what happens to the guys who bought the deal when it first came out. Their 24 month period will be ending soon and if anyone gets a R1k bill I'm sure there will be a lot of noise since not everyone reads the terms and conditions.

How do you check how many months you got left on the contract?

You'd be stupid not give notice to cancel outright instead of going month to month for R1K

And you can forget about continuing to pay R199 on month to month after your contract expires.

Aint going to happen.

I have decided to renew. Dont have ADSL lines in my neighborhood, as copper theft is ripe, so 8ta has been a blessing. I get very decent speeds, latency and tech support has been awesome. All in all, no reason why I should not renew.

Unfortunately, I have now spent 2 hours in their walk in centers, and I have not been able to renew my deal. Something about I can only upgrade or change a package, but cant renew.

Has anyone else experienced this?

The 8ta staff were very friendly in this situation, showed my the pc screen trying to load the deal, and when that failed, they called support to assist (3 times, as the call center kept hanging up on them). The support in the call center also has not been able to assist.

8ta rep, any ideas as to why this might have happened, and how could we resolve this?

Has my karma stopped me from upgrading because there is something better coming out soon?

Tick Tock, Tick Tock.

Hopefully Aprils Fools Joke will kick in like 120 GIG + 120 GIG for R1800 once-off

I think you can't renew the deal on the same sim. You have to buy another 24 month contract on a new sim. Too late now I suppose. The staff should have known this.

If you have a current 10GB + 10GB, you will be paying R299 till you cancel it.

This is from 8ta HQ. I was at the 8ta shop and the dude phoned HQ to confirm.

And if you have the regular 10GB you'll continue paying R199?

I've only got confirmation for the 10GB + 10GB (R299), so don't know about the R199 deal.

Apparently if they offer the deal again, it will only be as R299 - you must take the night surfer, which is brilliant in any case.

AFAIK you can only renew the deal if it is in the last two months - should have simply taken out a new deal

Morning gents - was at 8ta shop at waterfront this morning. I checked with the lady there, After 24 months, it will continue month to month at the same price - R199, until you decide to terminate.

@8ta rep - please confirm above.

Thanks in advance!
