8ta Prepaid WiFi Hotspot Connection Problems?

Does anyone know whether Telkom has sorted out the problems experienced in connecting to their hotspots with a prepaid 8ta sim card?
I understand that with a contract there is no problem but they haven't made provision on prepaid to put in the MAC address using a laptop. I can get on via the guest connection, but this doesnt let me use the 10GB in my account.

Any advice here would really be helpful.

This feature is only availible to smartphones afaik.

No way to make use of this offer if you're a laptop user.

No dongle has the EAP-SIM feature as far as I know.

I always passed the wi-fi hotspot as advertised on their website. Either they password protected etc but it doesn't bother me as much.
