Does anyone know why 8ta online self service is still down after 5 days or more.
The most critical time for it to be up is at the beginning of the month so one can buy bundles.
Is this a common occurrence (I have not used 8ta for a while). When I used it before it also seemed to be a problem. Thought they would have solved this issue by now.

They upgrading. You can buy airtime and send to your phone from your bank & then you call the call centre and they will do the manual conversion of $$$ - data.

sure there are ways around this. ie send money from bank then click on chat to an agent on their website and chat to agent. They eventually have to phone you for "security reasons" - to any phone number so not sure the relevance of security reasons is and then one is able to buy a bundle.
I cannot believe that they need to upgrade for 5 days ? one would think that the old version runs until they switch over to the new version at midnight or similar. Just imagine if gmail did this ie down for 5 days ???

I had a problem earlier on purchased airtime and wanted to recharge my account said invalid things were operational from 5PM onwards and I was a little worried that perhaps the merchant robbed me or they were a fake bunch.

That is the site that is down for all my sim cards and they say it is under maintenance now for 6 days.

Working for me.
What happens when you try go there?
<possible silly question>Are you sure that you're connected to the internet using the SIM you want to manage when you go to onnet.8ta.com?</possible silly question>

The sim is in durban and I am 800km away so cannot use the sim (would use ussd if i could)
When i go to http://onnet.8ta.com it takes me to the self service login. Login as I have always done - never have been connected with the sim that I am managing. Opens my account for that sim but under accounts I get "** Service unavailable. Please try again later **" and under purchase bundle I get "An error has occurred. undefined"
this happens even if I use the off network option

OK, that makes sense (that always happens when you go there from a "non-8ta" internet connection).

That's weird. Hopefully the 8ta rep can help.

I think it wont work if you're not using a 8ta sim on 8ta network. There should be an offnet option somewhere if you go via the 8ta website.
