8ta SIM with Vodafone/ZTE R212 'Limited Service' issue

Has anyone been able to get an 8ta data SIM to work with an R212 mobile router?
I just get a 'Limited Service' message, i.e. No connection at all and no amount of resetting, rebooting or tinkering with settings has helped.
I don't quite get it. My last two mobile routers (Vodafone R201 and Huawei e586) worked 100% out of the box plug and play with whichever SIM card I put in there.
I've phoned 8ta tech support but they say they're not familiar with the device.

Okay so it seems that there are some issues in general with the R212-Z device, issues which have been solved by a v3.5 beta firmware update. So I'll take that up in the Vodacom area.

There is the thread that was created few days ago.

My 8ta prepaid sim works, but you need to toggle settings 3g save /4g save 3g save.
on poweroff you have to do this ritual again.. Quite annoying indeed.

Could you please tell me which Drivers you are using to get the Vodafone Router to work with 8ta / Telkomible SIM ?

Hi there
I had the same problem with Alcatel Y800Z, also show all time Limited Service, however did work with voda, after compere the two sims i noted that the 8ta sim, was quite big (old type) related to the voda one, next morning i trap to telkom 3rivers, they swoap the sim for a new one, BINGO work like a dream.
