Hi,

Searched high & low for apn settings as posted here but my device says no sim card found after entering the apn values.
Used different names: 8.ta internet; 8ta internet; WAP.8ta, 8ta WAP; 8ta
Used different authentication types: CHAP; PAP; None
Used different APN types: default; GPRS
MCC (655) and MNC (02) stays the same.

Please HELP!

When you get message "SIM not found" or something like that, power off, re-insert SIM and restart phone.
Re APN: try plain internet (without 8ta thingy)

Hi

I am having the exact same issue after porting to 8ta 3 days ago. Never had this issue before.

The above suggestion did not work. Any other suggestions?

Thanks

8ta/Telkom Mobile work with any apn settings.

I did not change my apn settings back and was still on myMTN and lte.vodacom.za and my 8ta sim still connected. I guess it doesn't matter what apn you use with Telkom Mobile

True, their technical team have thought of everything to make things simplified for new customers joining their network instead of inconveniencing them.

You can check your airtime balance:
*100#
*101#
*180#
not sure of MTN USSD :)

Yeah so if data is not working its highly unlikely that its a settings issue unless the settings you have has a proxy for another network in them. That's the only way settings can be the culprit.

I inserted an 8ta sim that i have and i am able to connect to the internet...im suspecting that the Telkom sim might be the culprit and guess a sim swap needs to be done
