8ta/TM contract device warranty - 12 or 24 months?

Hi

Does anyone know if 8ta contract devices have a 24 month warranty or is it just the standard manufacturers warranty of 12 months?

tried searching but cant find any info, and not in the mood for to deal with the call center right now

Good question OP.

As far as I am aware Vodacom, MTN do the 12 month warranty(covered by supplier) the other 12months(covered by the service provider)..

Alternatively you can PM the rep.

I spoke to the rep a few days ago
apparently with TM the warranty period differs with the devices (manufacturers)
My Huawei tab only has a 1 year warranty, and the touch screen is now unresponsive in a certain area
Sucks, but what can you do...

True depends from Manufacture to manufacture! Back in the day I remember Vodacom would pay cost for the 2nd year if not mistaken but now days 2 year warranty is becoming the standard*probably for South Africa* Use a website such as IMEI supply your IMEI details then you will get details on your device, warranty period, activation date, build date etc.

Huawei should really consider amending that 1 year warranty to 2 year warranty as of lately their devices are walking out of the shelves! Alone 1 store sold like 90 Huawei Y220 smart phones in a day! Queue of people lining up

Normally it's one year warranty from manufacturer, or you can opt to take out insurance for your device.

I just insure with my household insurer, as I like all my stuff under one yellow umbrella. :)

Don't forget to read the fine print when taken out insurance for your device some insurances have a 3 weeks cooling period before you can claim.
