8ta unlimited voice calls package launched

These contracts will be available for a monthly price of between R1,199 and R1,499 over 24 months on either SIM-only and handset inclusive deals.

To me price looks heavy but again depending on what handset will be added.

I suppose if you spend more than 20 hours a month making out-going calls this might actually be a very good deal for you (I'm comparing this against CellC's 99c per minute, per second billing tariff).

The handset is a Galaxy SIII.

This is either aimed at the businessman or to those people who live alone in the mountains and are desperate for companionship :)

True that. Comes down to about 1 hour per work day outgoing calls and you'd break even with Cell C 99c.
But remember, Cell C 99c can be month to month, 8ta is 24 months.

... waits for Cell C to beat this deal ;) (and please make a month to month option possible)

Wow, if you are spending that much on outgoing calls... The local only bit is going to limit this, unless international calls are charged at a much lower rate. Otherwise I could have seen a couple of businessmen going for this type of deal.

If a businessman used a normal package and bolted on one of the data deals such as the 2 gigs for R266, then downloaded Skype Mobile and bought some skype credits/ got the people he does business with to do the same thing. He could have practically unlimited VOIP calls every month for much much less right? I mean a normal skype call can't use that much data.

Great package if your calls exceed that amount consistently, but I dont think this will be true of most users. I would now like to see 8ta release some competitive lower end contracts with good handsets and a decent amount of bundled "anytime" airtime.

This is awesome! I can't wait for CellC to react on this one. It will take Vodascum and EmptyN another year to put a package like this in place.

Vodacom will have it soon with a FUP , calls will degrade in quality the more you phone :p
