8ta unlimited voice calls package launched

My bill constantly over R3000 per month.

Vodascum ends July 2013.

What to do... What to do...??

Decisions... Decisions!!

I wonder if they gonna offer the LTE Samsung SIII on this package. Will definitely go for that.

Does anyone know if a landline type phone exists so that I can put this SIM in??? Maybe a stupid question but I never saw one.

Yep its a huawei device with basic 384kpbs 3g but its mainly made for areas where there are no copper lines due to cable theft,we have these at out business you can get it from any telkom store, its around R450 if i remember correctly.

My office "landline" bill comes to R2400 per month, seriously considering taking up this offer instead.

You can just add any sim in here and use it to make calls its an ets6630 heres a link

Isn't it strange that Telkom has never offered a fixed line product like this, but now 8ta does and there is more risk of over-usage because the telephony device can be kept on one's person and used 24/7....

Interesting......

Very strange indeed, its like 8ta will be eating its own parents customers at this rate.Cannibalism indeed.

There is no risk besides the line being terminated, the idea is for it to be used 24/7,it would really work well for mobile sales reps, people in long distance relationships, small businesses etc

great Deal

+1

Put the sim in a handset in a small office and get staff to use it instead of LCR......

My bill is R4,000 per month , no premium, no international

That will be consider as an LCR

That is what will have to be done. In fact in the article, it states that the sim will have to stay in the phone that has it's IMEI registered when the contract is signed. So you can't put the sim in any device - only one single device and you have to give them that IMEI so they can make sure you are not LCR'ing.

I see one handset and a whole squatter camp using it for a small fee to the owner. The same as with Eskom power, get it basically for free.

how can cellc beat this while it's still struggling to beat their data offering. 8ta offers data @ R0,05/mb while on cellc you get a meg for R0'15 thats 200% high than 8.ta

Gotta say that those prices first had me shocked and thinking :wtf: and then I remembered at my old job in 2001 - that my boss was paying upwards of R2k with Vodacom - yes economies and pricing was different then.
But based on some of the posts which have quoted current expenditure - R1499 (or whatever) seems like a good deal.

Nice one 8ta. But why is the mobile arm of Telkom being a market leader (as well as a loss leader?)

Nice! Now cut data bundle prices it's long overdue

Isn't 8ta currently offering the lowest data rates? Or very close to it already?

Noes!!! We need the unlimited DATA!

Not happening in the mobile arena - the US and Europe had it for years, until the advent of true smartphones and HSDPA networks.
This is one side of the market where it really isn't sustainable :p ;)

Thats pretty wild. I'd imagine quite a few sales ppl will take advantage of this.

This looks interesting.

So basically you just pop any simcard into this phone and plug in the power chord and this will act as a cellphone and make phonecalls from the simcard inside?

Where do you buy these sets?
