Can anyone recommend a 9 bay case which doesn't have guide rails in the drive bays? (so I can mount 3x Icydocks)

Tried Esquire, they don't have cases like that.

I'm not looking for a gaming chassis with led lights and windows, this is purely a storage solution.

Might end up importing a case...

Wouldn't it be easier and faster to modify a case you can get locally?

I don't feel like the hassle, or screwing up the structure of the case, if my current case is anything to go buy, removing the railings on the drive bays would collapse them.

Not having those guide rails can't be that uncommon, the problem is I don't want to walk around stores looking for 9 bay PCs, and opening them to see if they have rails

I was looking for something similar last week

I'm on my phone so i cant paste a link but search on server-warehouse.co.za for a product called norcotek.

They have up to a 16 bay enclosure IIRC.

The one for R11,340? Way to much :p

Thinking of R1000 case, and 3x IcyDock bays for R1600 = R5800 for fifteen drives. (I have an old PC with 10 onboard SATA2)

I don't remember it being so much :D

I'll check later and post the link if I can find it.

Much better. Will look into it definitely worth it if it can take 15 drives.

Woah thats expensive.

I imported a 24 hostwap bay 4u case from the UK for R7400 which included the shipping, and the shipping was pretty much half of the price. server-warehouse.co.za seems expensive.

That said, rackmount fileservers for the win!
