I loaded a 3GB 365 day voucher on my regular cell prepaid SIM a while ago and I have just changed the tariff plan to "99c for real", with no trouble. Data only SIM's seem to be another story though.

Not sure what will happen with one of the new "99c for real" specific SIM's.

Good Day All

you wont be able to load the 99c tariff in the 3GB data sim, as the sim is pre-loaded with a different tariff.
It's a promo so is set to a set billing plan.

so could you load the data on a 99c sim then? As Base has done?

I'd like to echo the question asked, can it be done the other way around? I.e. first change tariff to 99c for real. Then load the 3GB data valid for 365 days?
If anyone has done this, please confirm your tariff by making a call and checking balances and the data expiry date.

I wish Cell C (and others) would just simply apply the same tariff plan (best deal) to all prepaid SIM's regardless of whether they are regular, data or "promotional".

What's the big difference anyway? Why make customers jump through all kinds of hoops? Is this a strategy to create the perception of "value" for your money? The more hoops the better the deal? The more you "score"? Seems a bit pointless.

Just give us the least complicated, best possible call, sms and data tariffs and let us use our devices as they were intended, without letting tariffs constantly dictate our usage. Kind of like the "Capitec" of the local banking world.

Simplicity is the answer here. :)

I have a regular prepaid Sim that moved over to the 99c option and I have loaded my second 3 gig 365 day voucher onto it.

So yes it can be done. Just go prepaid Sim first then voucher second.

Be prepared to burn through a lot more data though. Since these vouchers came out I have stopped caring about how much data I use.:D

@Shayd,
Can you confirm by making a 6 second call to a different network if 10c gets deducted from your airtime?
Can you confirm the expiry date of your data, i.e. is it still 365 days from loading?

Let's try and answer the OP's question:
If I went and bought a new "99c for real" (I assume this and not another 99c plan?) specific SIM today, activated it and loaded some airtime, would I be able to load the R399 365day 3GB SmartData voucher or not?

Cell_C?

Lets try it and answer OP question.
As for your previous questions, I am sure there is a glitch in the system, not intended.

Armando gives an answer, it will be fixed:
Armando: You will not be able to load the data sim on to the 99c promo.
They were load on a different tariff and can't be change.
Never expected them to be use for cell numbers.
We have brought it up and are looking at putting them on the 99c tariff.

Yes I actually pay per second and yes it will expire in a year. Admittedly my last voucher only lasted me 4ish months but this combo does work folks.

MAKE SURE YOU GET A REGULAR SIM AND LOAD THE VOUCHER... not the other way where you get the sim and try change tariff plans.

Only in Cell C stores and sometimes they don't have stock of these virtual vouchers (Don't ask), so I suggest you phone first and ask if they have the "3GB data voucher for R399 valid for a year" voucher.

Thanks. That's a bit of a pain
